LOCATION

Blairsville is located at latitude: 34 degrees, 83.43 minutes; and longitude: 83 degrees, 99.08 minutes.

Blairsville, the county seat of Union County, is located in the Nottely River valley in the North Georgia mountains just east of the junction of state borders with North Carolina and Tennessee. The Nottely River starts in the mountains just north and below the divide between the Tennessee River valley on the north and the Chattahoochee River valley to the south. The Nottely River flows northerly (unusual for Georgia, where most rivers flow southerly) into the Tennessee River and eventually flows into the Mississippi River and to the Gulf of Mexico below New Orleans. There are no other incorporated cities in Union County. The only unincorporated town in Union County is Suches, Georgia's highest-elevation community.

                    SHORTCUT TO BLAIRSVILLE FROM THE END OF GA 400

At the end of GA 400 Northbound, continue straight ahead on GA 115  
Cross GA 52 at traffic light and continue straight on Long Branch Rd. Long Branch becomes Coppermine Road, go to the dead end.
Left on Cavander Creek Road for 1.0 mile.
Right on Town Creek Church Road for 2.1 miles
Left on Frogtown Road to "Y" for 1.4 miles, then take the left fork.
Go to dead end on Frogtown Road. for 1.7 miles.
Left on Damascus Church Road for 1.2 miles to dead end.
Right on US 19 to Turner's Corner for 2.1 miles to dead end.
Left at dead end (Road becomes US 19/129) for 20 miles to Blairsville.
